John Giles had been transferred from Leeds United to West Bromwich Albion in June 1975, so by the time this match was played he was associated with West Bromwich Albion. In his profile, therefore, the number of matches played for Republic of Ireland while a player of Leeds should be reduced from 33 to 32, and the number of matches while a player of West Bromwich Albion should be increased from 6 to 7. The club affiliation of John Giles in this match has not yet been corrected (from Leeds United to West Bromwich Albion). [See comment above]
