His name was Joe Griffiths. The A in the middle stands for Anthony but he was known as Joe Griffiths.

His father, William Edward Griffiths, was for years in the committee of St. George’s FC and his son Tony Griffiths was a player of Sliema Wanderers in the sixties. (link:
